The Waldo Canyon Fire has dramatically increased the probability of flash flooding in Ute Pass, Manitou Springs and portions of Colorado Springs. Home owners along drainages coming off the Waldo Canyon Burn Scar need to take precautions to protect your family and property from the expected flash flooding.

  • CERT: Citizen Emergency Response Training
    Following a major disaster, first responders who provide fire and medical services will not be able to meet the demand for these services. Citizen will have to rely on each other for help in order to meet their immediate life saving and life sustaining needs.  The Emergency Services Division offers CERT classes to accomplish the goal of enhancing the safety of all El Paso County citizens. Send an email to CERT@ElPasoCo.com for class schedules and more information.

  • Emergency Evacuation Registry:

The Emergency Evacuation Registry is a tool to help plan for evacuation in case of an emergency. The Registry is a database designed to help First Responders identify people who may not be able to evacuate without assistance during an emergency. The Registry is for El Paso County residents who have some type of condition or impairment that would limit their ability to safely evacuate their home in a time of emergency. Call the United Way at 2-1-1 to register.
